T is for Tennis

Bringing the benefits of tennis to kids in under-served communities.

The earlier the better!

Tennis provides children with the perfect opportunity to get active while having fun and learning valuable life skills.

It contributes not only to children’s physical health and development but to their psychological health as well.

We aim to have an impact in these areas of growth while improving social skills in the process.

How does it work?

We partner with Head Start schools to get kids between the ages of 3 and 5 moving and working on their hand-eye coordination.

Our program director, Andrea Sanchez, leads a troop of volunteers who run stations inside a school’s gymnasium (or any available open space), with each station focusing on a different skill.

Kids rotate through the circuit, getting their heart rates up, working together with their peers, and developing a diversity of important skills.

Sessions are 30 minutes, and we love working with multiple classes per day..

Can I volunteer?

We’d love to have you join us at our next session! What might you be responsible for?

Well first, having a great time with the kids and getting some exercise yourself!

As an “assistant coach,” you’ll be working with Andrea to set up stations, leading exercises, keeping the kids moving and safe, while knowing you’re contributing to something so meaningful… for them, and for the communities they’ll be growing up in for years to come.

To get started, please email Andrea here.
